How to detect dating scam / fraud?
Yes, one of the main problems on free dating sites such as OneLoveNet.com is that many scammers are using them. Although we use a number of automatic and manual methods to block and delete these scams our methods can never be 100% safe.
A dating scam usually involves the following steps:
- The scammer posts an attractive photo (such as attractive professional fotomodel photo) and fake profile on a dating website.
- The scammer sends the same message to many members. In this message the scammer usually express his / her interest in the member and provides a freemail address (yahoo or hotmail) and prefers to continue the discussion by email.
- If the scammer gets replies, he/she will present stories (a relative died, he / she was travelling and his / her pocket was stolen, etc.) and will claim how bad his/her current situation is and needs help and support to overcome it in some way. The story is usually very emotional and will easily gain sympathy and affection from the victim.
- No matter what the story is, after a short or long period of establishing trust and desire, the scammer will ask for money to be sent by Western Union, Monegram, cash money orders, send merchandise, etc..
Never send any money to someone you met on the Internet! If you suspect that a member’s profile is fake please imediatelly use the Admin Alert function we have on all profiles, we will investigate and take the required steps to delete / block the profile in question.
Being the fastest growing free dating site, our job, to reveiew all accounts are getting harder, day after day, this is why we always need your help and support to stop or at least minimize dating scam on our website.

Hi Zoltan. It’s me again. I received a messsage from gk1000 which is definately a scam and a fraud. The member should be reported to the authorities or at the least struck off.
Who knows who else gk1000 is scamming.

I received in October a wonderful email from a member of Onelovenet ,whose profile was Lonelymanforlove ,but today I showed it to one internet friend who claimed to be a scam detector and after he has discussed with his friends(He said that they are old friend FBI agents)my friend profile was deleted from lnelovenet and I feel sorry.
I don’t know who delete this profile,in the mean time,James Ford (lonelymanforlove),asked me some money through western union ,because he is still blocked in Nigeria because one bad business.I have already sent him 660$,and he needs 300$ more to get a ticket back to USA.Between us there is a nice love relatioship on line.He even promised me to come down to me and marry me ,I asked him a webcam or passport copy but he was upset ,he has no webcam in Nigeria hotel,he says he is desperate starving there.I have sent all money to one nigerian man,Oluwadare A OLADAPO,the hotel accountant,because James was afraid to get in trouble in Nigeria.
I don’t know why his profile is deleted now,I could access his profile whenever I wanted before but not today.My newest friend is James Tom,who claims is working agains scamms with 2 FBI friends;but one of them,Bartholomew is black and asked me on line 500$ just to travel from Ghana to Nigeria ,to verify James Ford identity and Oluwadare Oladapo.They think there is only one person,a nigerian scam behind this American names and deleted profile.
I have printed his profile ,for keeping his photo.Also,his emails.
He gave me a USA address and a cell phone number ,but one friend of Tom James said they are fake .I don’t know what to think….is James Ford only a nigerian scam?I mean Oluwadare a Oladapo?Or James Tom and his friends are trying to get some money from me ,too?(Bartholomew has asked from me 500$ today)….
I regret James Ford ,Lonelymanforlove profile is deleted….Should I send him more money?I have not a great situation,because I am jobless artist now and I have to solve some health problems now,too.
Is his photos real or taken from one model ?
James Ford wrote me many love emails,I want to help him if he is a real American man,doesn’t matter if we will meet each others or not.

This is a very interesting feature of this site. It relieves the users the worry about nuisance of spammers and fraudulent users.
I recommend every user of this site to report every instance of fraudulent messages they get so that the users can use clean digital environment and transparent communication.
